Idyllic and protected, Clarke’s Beach is a top spot all year round for swimming, snorkelling and bodysurfing, and it’s right across the road from Barbara.
This classic Australian beach house has been transformed to a luxurious holiday house with a design inspired by the Mediterranean homes of Majorca, Corsica and the Greek Islands. All that’s good about the feel of the original architecture has been complemented with a refined palette of all-white interiors, rendered brick walls, natural stone and timbers.
Spread over two levels, this totally relaxing home can accommodate fourteen guests, with five bedrooms (including a truly exceptional master suite) and three bathrooms. Other features include two separate living areas, a large kitchen that’s open to the views, and the first-floor balcony that’s big enough for everyone to gather for outdoor dining.
If you can turn away from the sublime views there’s a secluded resort-style pool to enjoy, surrounded by daybeds, decks and greenery to the sheltered rear of the property. From Clarke’s Beach it’s just a few minutes stroll to central Byron and drawcards like the unique Julian Rocks marine reserve and the famous annual whale pilgrimage.
You can bet you’ll go home from Barbara with amazing memories and many compelling reasons to return.
